The Youth Red Cross unit promotes humanitarian values, health awareness and social welfare activities among students. It organizes blood donation camps, first aid training, health awareness programmes and community outreach activities.

Objectives of the YRC (Youth Red Cross)

  • To promote humanitarian values such as compassion, service and social responsibility among students.
  • To create awareness about health, hygiene and disease prevention.
  • To encourage voluntary participation in social welfare and community service activities.
  • To develop a sense of emergency preparedness and first aid awareness among student volunteers.
  • To instill the spirit of voluntary blood donation and lifesaving service.
  • To nurture leadership, teamwork and civic responsibility among youth.

Key Activities of the YRC (Youth Red Cross)

  • Blood Donation Camps:
    Organizing voluntary blood donation camps in collaboration with government and private hospitals.
  • First Aid and Emergency Care Training:
    Conducting training programmes on first aid, basic life support and emergency response.
  • Health Awareness Programmes:
    Organizing sessions on personal hygiene, nutrition, communicable and non-communicable diseases and mental health.
  • Community Outreach Activities:
    Participating in health camps, sanitation drives and welfare programmes in nearby communities.
  • Disaster Preparedness and Relief Activities:
    Training volunteers for disaster response and participating in relief activities during emergencies.
  • Observation of Health and Humanitarian Days:
    Observing World Red Cross Day, World Health Day and similar occasions through awareness activities.
  • Youth Leadership and Volunteer Training:
    Providing opportunities for students to develop leadership qualities and volunteer management skills.
  • Collaboration with Red Cross Society:
    Coordinating with the Indian Red Cross Society for training, outreach and service initiatives.
  • Documentation and Reporting:
    Maintaining records of activities, volunteer participation and community impact.
