The Psycho-Social Supportive Cell focuses on the mental health and emotional well-being of student-teachers. It offers counselling services, stress-management sessions and awareness programmes to help students cope with academic pressure and personal challenges. The Cell ensures a positive and supportive campus atmosphere by fostering resilience, confidence and emotional stability.

Objectives of the Psycho-Social Supportive Cell

  • To promote the mental health and emotional well-being of student-teachers.
  • To provide a safe, confidential and supportive space for counselling and emotional support.
  • To help students effectively cope with academic stress, personal challenges and life transitions.
  • To foster resilience, self-confidence, emotional stability and positive self-esteem among student-teachers.
  • To create awareness about the importance of mental health and psychosocial well-being.
  • To ensure a positive, inclusive and supportive campus environment conducive to holistic development.

Key Activities of the Psycho-Social Supportive Cell

  • Individual and Group Counselling:
    Providing confidential counselling sessions to support emotional, academic and personal concerns.
  • Stress Management and Relaxation Programmes:
    Organizing sessions on stress reduction techniques, mindfulness, meditation, yoga and relaxation practices.
  • Mental Health Awareness Programmes:
    Conducting workshops, talks and campaigns on mental health, emotional intelligence and self-care.
  • Life Skills Development Sessions:
    Offering programmes on coping skills, time management, decision-making and interpersonal relationships.
  • Peer Support Initiatives:
    Encouraging peer interaction and support to build a sense of belonging and mutual care.
  • Crisis Support and Referral Services:
    Identifying students in distress and facilitating timely referral to professional mental health services when required.
  • Observance of Mental Health Days:
    Organizing activities to observe World Mental Health Day and similar occasions.
  • Documentation and Follow-up:
    Maintaining confidential records and monitoring the progress and well-being of beneficiaries.
